Should Jolla start a Indiegogo campain to help themselve and us? I think yes. Jolla have 107000 likes on Facebook and 9000 users on together Jolla. If 10000 People donate only 10€, so they have at the end 100000€ more cash. I would even be willing to pay more. This could be a other way of people power.

Jolla isn't a charity. It is a company with a bunch of engineers that managed to deliver quite a lot despite the rough market and unexpected trouble along the way (ie. ST-erricson SoC)
If anyone has deep pockets and understands that you can't build everything in 2 years can invest in them. They proved themselves. They are the most modern linux mobile distro there is. The others (Ubuntu, Tizen) are not even close to where SFOS is today. And it works -despite some rough spots- and its awesome to use.
Big thumbs up from me too! Despite all difficulties love my two Jollas in equal measure. I'll gladly support them in terms of hardware or products that are of interest to me but just giving money is not really the solution. There needs to be some sort of strategy to allow the company itself to grow and be profitable.

For us which had paid in crowdfounding and have no perspective to get money back or get the paid hardware I will not give any cent further

I can ABSOLUTELY understand how hard it is to have a business. I also have a business in computer technics. And also for us here not all days and times run good. 2008 was a big shock and we never will forget this.
But they are in a big trouble, do not deliver PAID !!!!!!! products and do NEVER give us a statement to get or paid product or the money back
This is NOT normal business and there is NO excuse for this

If I remember well, people wanted to pay for things in the past, which means income to Jolla. Products, that were not made available, so the money stayed in the pockets:
TOH - People raved about the colourfull plastic TOH since 1st day but were never released, instead we got a black and an ugly-green. Oh, and don't forget the pink bird one which were never released.
Functional TOH - Jolla could support developers with a shop and manufacturing connections for example, the most talked about TOHKBD is a good example. The TOHKBD should be already in the Jolla store by now.
Paid apps in store - This is not about donation. It is about encouraging programmers to support the OS. The more developers support the OS the more hardware manufacturers will find the platform promising enough to offer it in their new phone.
Extra batteries - Although a survey pointed out not many will buy it instantly, well, I have nothing to say...
All the above mentioned points could make the Jolla idea more attractive for former buyers as well as new customers and investors.

Yes, I like to see an alternative mobile OS to see.
BUT: Jolla Inc. as a company with crowdfunding failed in so many ways, that it just lacks of trust to me:
On some aspects (Aigo tablet instead, missing Dev tablets, 2nd tablet campaign on IGG, money to SFOS instead of manufacturing, startup vs. ex nokia experts, ...) make me feel that they just cheated on the whole journey....

As much as I am willing to support Jolla, I don't think this is a good idea. Keeping a company alive with donations would be an utterly disturbing signal for the market, it would scare away any potential investor, and we all know, there is no such thing as a free lunch. It is a rule of thumb always to directly offer something (product, service) in exchange for another thing (money), otherwise you would give customers the feeling that you do not value your own skills and efforts yourself, resulting in a deprivation of customers' (and thus investors') confidence.

One reason I can think of is (unfortunately) the opaqueness of the company on many aspects. Part of this is of course due to Jolla being a Privately owned company; and part of it is also due to strategy being kept safe. In short, jolla is not ready for this IMO.

by now, there is NO delivery for the LONG AWAY PAID tablet systems, NO plan to deliver and NO plan to get the money back.
Every week new phrases and nothing else.
Who in this situation wants to give further money - please, You can do this - but I would NOT
Results and facts are interesting and not MAY BE or WOULD BE or COULD or EVENTUALLY
By now we only know that they have financially trouble and NO schedule for give us back our money we gave them long ago.
And so also thinks their bank and financing partners.

Jolla OY are owned by their shareholders. If the company needs more capital, they can sell more shares. Probably, it's not a good moment now, prices will be low. Community could initiate a buyout and buy all available shares off current shareholders as a first step, and then, as community now are the new owners, raise the share's value. That money would be disposable to Jolla's management, then. Probably, stock exchange would never reflect that price increase.
Simple economics: owners do not raise the share's value. The value is estimated by investors or banks based on the expected profits and only when shares are sold the value is determined. Prices will be low because of the low expected profits. Value will increase if expected profit increases, this can happen when much more devices are sold or SFOS2.0 is licensed to a large phone maker which sells much more devices...

I appreciate ideas like this, but they really have fundamental flaw of underestimating cost of human resources. Jolla had 50 million euro for 3 or so years. That 100 000 € is one persons 1 year wage with all mandatory costs added for employer. To keep all 100 persons going on you would need 10 000 000€. And I doubt Jolla employees have been slacking so there might not be much to cut in expenses from. At least not if you wanted to keep development running.

It has a gigantic potential, simply because it offers 7-billion potential users an opportunity to own the instrument of their digital life instead of being owned by it.
