Hello,

I don't understand why but since that update (1.1.9.28), Jolla is not really "multi-task" anymore. I'll give an exemple :

When I open the message application, and then the phone, both of them are supposed to stay opened, but after a while (a short moment), the application stay on the screen, but it's not opened anymore, and when I tap on it, it restarts. And it does that whith every application.

It was not like that before sailfish 2.0 (and 1.1.9.28). It there a solution for that ? On the N9, I can keep applications opened for days and they still are.

So the title of this is highly misleading ... I have no memory problems and can easily open and switch between 5-6 applications.

You must have some apps running that consume lots of resources, sfos 2.0 compared to its initial version is not the same either. we need a Jolla2 or something else with better h/w.

You can try "disabling" the OOM_Killer temporary by executing

devel-su
sysctl -w vm.overcommit_memory=0

If you want to make it fixed add vm.overcommit_memory=0 to a new file in /etc/sysctl.d/oom_tweak.conf
This will basically restore the original behavior from the first SailfishOS versions (or Meego on N9 or Maemo in N900)

Thank you. It seems that with this command, it killed the entire android system. When I Iooked in the memory, every android disappeared, wich has released a lot of memory, but it didn't solved the problem. Every time I try to launch an non-jolla application, it doesn't work. Maybe I'll have to accept the new system, I dont know...

EDIT : Don't pay attention to my message. It worked after a restart. I will see if it's better now. Once again, thank you !

Thanks alot, this and a bigger swap space brought my Jolla back to real multitaskting!! No unwanted closed apps anymore.
