Also, the Google Play Downloader can generate and register a device-id. Due to a possible bug on Jolla, an (easy) fix is needed to be able to download things using Android apps.

Ask the publisher to make their app available on their own website, or at least on alternative stores. Downloading from 1mobile doesn't need a registration (for now..) so that seems to be a good place to start.

Another application in Python also based Google Market API : http://codingteam.net/project/googleplaydownloader. I've used it to download apk with my Google account and with the ID of my tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab II.
Thanks! The feature to scan for updated apk's works fine with this tool. On my Kubuntu machine I only needed to apt-get the python-protobuf package (as per readme), but I guess on Windows it'll take some more work, making Real APK Leecher probably the easier solution.

I was also looking for some reliable sources to download apps, finally I found ApkLink.com working fine for me, I'm quite satisfied. Unfortunately evozi most of times goes out of data....

Yes, this service is good. Actually it's so good it went almost down after amount of Jolla users increased ... at least timing was kinda perfect ... before Jolla, no issues, after Jolla, service become very busy and flooded...

That shows me they're not using decent advertising... Worse: when downloading, they can inject all kinds of evil in the apk, without you knowing.
