How to move contact items from local address book to exchange address book?

Hi,

when my new Jolla phone arrived, I immediately activated the MS Exchange connector and connected the Jolla phone to a Horde site (via activesync). This worked brilliantly.

Next step was: import my contacts from the formerly used N900 into the Jolla Smartphone. The N900 did not have any connection via MS Exchange connector or such. The contacts had been only stored locally in the phone. The import wizzard in Jolla's people app did a really good job. All contacts got imported from the N900 into the Jolla phone via Bluetooth.

However, the contacts I imported via Bluetooth from the N900 got stored in the local address book of the phone. Not in the MS Exchange account's address book folder. And, it is not possible to move contacts from the local sqlite3 storage to the MS Exchange storage folder for contacts.

Whenever I now update a contact, the added information appears on my Horde site (synced there from the Jolla phone via activesync), but various other contact information is only stored locally on the phone.

Is there any UIX-ish way to move contacts between address books with Jolla's people app?

Do you need just one-time move? Or sychronize (up to date on any side after changes)? If just move, try this non-UX way (otherwise, it is better to choose some CardDAV solution).

  1. Make a backup (check only People category).
  2. Using the FileCase app. navigate to ./vault/People/data.
  3. Share the all.vcf file by E-mail to your Exchange mailbox and import it.

The feature you are mentioning is still missing, see referenced questions:
https://together.jolla.com/question/985/people-edit-google-contacts/
https://together.jolla.com/question/9444/bug-contacts-people-app-does-only-add-to-local-contacts-database/

Unfortunately we are still bound to workarounds as proposed by cocovina
