My Nerves are on their limit. Should I demand a Refund or not?

I wish all the best for Jolla and I did not yet demand a refund, because I did not want to worsen their situation even more. But as the time goes by I am more and more worried that I am just going to become an ass for my pains. The comments in the Jolla blog prove that it is entirely possible to get a full refund (except for small PayPal fee) even now. Even if you did not use the Jolla's web shop but instead participated in the crowdsource campaign. Even if you did not use PayPal and paid directly from your Credit Card. Even if a lot of time passed since your payment.

It is one thing to patiently wait knowing that it is no point in demanding a refund, because Jolla is struggling to get more Money, and hoping that maybe they will survive and I'll get the tablet that I paid for.

It is a completely different thing to watch how other people successfully return their money back and know that if I wait a bit more, I may very well loose this opportunity and then Jolla finally dies and I receive nothing. All while receiving no substantial information whatsoever from official Jolla representatives.

So I very need your advice. What should I do. I was a very sincere supporter of Jolla since day one but now even my faith starts to crumble.

Well, if you "wish all the best for Jolla" you won't demand a refund. Problem solved? ;)

@jollailija: it is one thing to believe in a company which has certain ideals. And another to throw your money away because you continued to drink Koolaid while everyone else saw which way the wind is blowing a long time ago

I suppose you knew the risks when you "threw your money away"? After all, it was a crowdfund.

you think there will be a difference between refund or not ? either we all get the tablets and some the refund or we all do get nothing.

i think it is as simple as that. drink a schnaps to cool down the nerves ;-)

And is whatever you paid worth burning your nerves? Heck people spend that on a nice dine experience to relieve stress! Take it easy mate, many people "lost" but in good faith, these are good guys who tried their best. My nerves would burn if I was ripped of by a conman or something, someone low, not people with high ideals who are right now struggling to keep their little boat afloat, because if it sinks they need to do something else to pay their RENT!

Think about that and how much nerves it would burn if one was on the brink not knowing if they'll go jobless in a few months.

You will end up paying more in the end as you will come back and support Jolla as soon as the ship is sailing again. Then full retail price, no?

They are doing their best to get things sorted and hey, the lights are still on.

And while I am one of the lucky 200, I just can tell: it is worth the wait!

I agree with this. Also, I have very much faith in Finnish debt restructuring. Recently the court decided that creditors cannot collect for the time being, which gives time for Jolla. (Reference: http://www.tivi.fi/Kaikki_uutiset/jolla-horjuu-haudan-partaalla-sai-oikeudelta-rauhoitusaikaa-6236014)

I think next week we'll get good news, because decisions due first half of december. So it makes sense to wait.

If you need the money to pay your daily bills go for a refund. Else calm down and wait :-)

@chemist, people's circumstances change. One may have had some spare cash at the end of 2014 but lost his/her job since and needs the money to pay the bills now.

Having said that, I agree that demanding a refund is

a) pointless (you will not get it)

b) counter-productive (if you by some miracle managed to get it, it would only further damage the company and speed up the downward spiral)

If 200eur make a difference to survive you are pretty much screwed already, no matter if you get a refund or not. Remember it was one year ago you paid, so those 200eur would be burned through by now anyway.

Yeah but you could say the same to Jolla: if refunding €200 makes a difference to you, then you are pretty much screwed already :) Besides some people live in countries where €200 is a monthly wage. Imagine you pre-paid not a tablet but let's say a car. And after a year, the company tells you sorry mate, no car and no money. I imagine you would be slightly peeved.

Please note I do not disagree with you, quite the opposite. But I can see where the OP is coming from.

The ask for a refund and don't even think about not to! There is no point in discussing this level as there is really no point in having a tablet, do you?
