What is community wishing/waiting from Jolla in the coming year? New devices, partnerships, something particular in software development?

What is the point of yet another wishlist? Jolla has paid exactly zero attention to all previous ones, what makes you think adding another one would make a difference?

  1. My Jolla Tablet
  2. At least one fully supported modern Android Phone (one plus or anything else), because there are no original Jolla phones
  3. Jolla 2 - let it be exactly the same phone on the outside, but with modern SOC, more RAM and a higher res (720p) screen (and let's dream big - smaller screen borders). - That's not an expectation, cause they aren't into hardware anymore, but it would be awesome to get an updated version of Jolla - compatible with the other halves.
  4. SFOS 2.1 better suited for one-handed usage and taking into account criticism of SFOS 2.0 (not expecting that one too :()
  5. SFOS 2.x which is finally stable and without freezes and animation stutter - really hope to see one.

  1. better usb mode handling, no workaround with ssh, see how it worked on N900
  2. better PIM tools (calender: week view, list of upcoming events, notes in contacts and events

None, I don't line myself up for disappointment by having expectations.

+1 to Jolla2. I think jolla needs a high-end phone that allows businesses to use it for cloud solutions. But do NOT make the mistake of creating hopes that such a thing can be bought for less than 700 Euros. Those wanting the low end experience should go with the current jolla phone

It is probably vital for the company to have concept devices that dhould be modern enougj yo be attractive. It could msybe be a goog idea to have e.g. a better camera than the competition. That would sttract non linux people.

Slso in this srnse a real pity how the tablet story turned out. It would have been a necessary psrt of the development. Just hope that it agsinst sll odds eill come true.

Or J2b without camera at all.

Encryption!

2) Encryption

c) encryption!

Did I miss something? Built-in cryptography!

/d

PS: Forget about tablets and all the bling bling I'd say. I'm not a marketing guy. I really DO MISS ENCRYPTION. What did you do the last 10 years? Privacy is for sissies? Heard about these services, yes? No? Nice cooperation with nice guys from funny organisations?

Missing all important needs is similar to ignoring the communicated needs from these people who are willing to spend money for the most superfluent phone on this earth - the Jolla. Maybe ask for support from Ubuntu phone. They have the same issues and do not do a good job at all with their phone. Linux rules? It will not conquer and the empire may go south. So let's go on ignoring the customer, take care for other halfes (what a useless joke). I could have expected more.

I think you missed some application security framework, like on iOS perhaps? ;) Also, as for me, fully refund tablet to IGG backers.

New phone with actual hardware. It could be any brand (PuzzlePhone, FairPhone, Intex or even Jolla itself...) but the hardware should be contemporary.

As alternative I would be happy to get some "official" build for some popular android smartphone. I really like the Sailfish OS and if it would be possible to install it to, say, Moto G or One Plus smartphone instead of Android I would be happy. There are a lot of community builds but all of them have partial hardware support (and it is understandable, because manufacturer don't want to publish hardware drivers specs). If Jolla can't provide us a good hardware, then we could buy it and install Sailfish OS manually. But this will is too ambitious.

Debacle, Fiasco, Banqueroute, business failure or misappropriation of funds, whatever you may wish to call it. Spending money and not keeping promises. Etc. Let's not get lexical, this is precise enough. :-/

oh, please, just give us

  • a better keypad (T9 search and big keys)
  • a useful address book (with notes) and
  • a nice calendar (copy android aCalendar's features)
  • and if you don't mind, get sync to work properly, too
  • plus system wide phone number recognition
  • same hardware but with better screen.

Dear Santa, I wrote this letter a bit late, but you will understand.....

For 2016 I want:

1.- The Jolla tablet I´ve paid for.

2.- A manual of "How to tell the truh and not lie to my supporters/customers" for Jolla team.

3.- A new phone with SFOS, with a good quality camera (with options enough).

4.- New socks for all your raindeers.

5.- Peace in the world.

I know that I´m asking too much, as any of them are impossible to get.....so cross fingers :-)

Happy New Year!!!

i'am really really happy with my actual jolla, I never could have dreamed of to be with a phone these days.

So finally it would be fantastic to get a new nice designed jolla 2 with keeping up the good work for another five years with new improvements over time.

But the most important: Thanks for this extraordinary piece of hard and software and the alternative of what this stands for nowadays.
