Am I the only that experience less battery life after the 2.0.1.7 update??
After pretty much each update you can find threads about increased battery drain, so I would dig deeper in to the situation:
(*Detailed instructions on what to do if this is your case here https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203840836)
Also, when reporting decreased battery life, it would be more substantial to provide some estimates of how the batter life has decreased, e.g. "before I could go a full work day (8hrs) and have to charge when going to bed, now I'm charging at lunch" or similar. If you are unable to say just how much worse the battery life is, then it can be that you are "imagining" the decrease in battery life, because you are e.g. using the device more now since you got a cool new update! :)
I started my adventure with Jolla from 2.0.0.10 and i didn't notice any battery drain after upgrade to 2.0.1.7
I Agree. No drain on 2.0.0. No drain on 2.0.17. Almost one week use without recharging! No location on. No wifi on. Very little phone use. Very litlle internet use. New record maybe!
dirtyharry ( 2016-01-25 14:37:36 +0200 )edithmm, doesn't sound like you actually use your phone. Battery drain is happening when I use the phone. When using the browser like when typing this, I lose 1 to 2% of battery every minute! My phone is 2+ years old, but it makes it sort of unusable for anything else besides keeping it on standby.
Hawkboy ( 2016-01-25 17:44:16 +0200 )editI have randon battery drain after 2.0.1.7 upgrage some times it occurred during browsing with native browser, phone came hot, and also broser was freezing . Browser has been freezin also w/o phone coming hot. Once when I left bowser and soem other apps open w/o using them for 1 hour or so the phone run hot and battery was used like suburban car uses petrol : ). But now for 2-3 days it has been settling, so "Hot waves " , this is interesting.
jpjolla ( 2016-02-05 20:56:47 +0200 )edit@dirtyharry ehm.. Sorry, but.. Are you using your Jolla or are you only keeping it inboxed? ahaha..
palikao ( 2016-03-02 21:27:54 +0200 )editI have battery drain problems too. I got my phone in Dez 2015, so it is not old and the battery is not loaded to many times. Last month i sended it in for an display repair and massive energy/battery consumption. The drain startet at the same time my display broke. I thought the broke display or an broken chipset caused the drain. So, last week i got my pjone back. The display was repaired, battery drain still exist. This was with 2.0.0.10. Even after factory reset by jollas repair team.
A full charged battery do just 8-15 hours. Also directly after factory reset, so there is no buggy 3party software or bad options.
I didn't found any helpfull hint. 1. Update 2. Upgrade to 2.0.1.7 3. Cleaning battery connectors with an rubber (and cleaning with all usefull tools) 4. The paper trick - push the battery more against the connectors 5. Flight mode - but thats not what an mobile phone is build for 6... no gps, only 3g, no auto-display - only 0-220 brightness manuell, no wifi, no games, only google calendar sync, 2 mail account every half hour, android whatsapp
Hunger meter says 1200-1300 mW in "just look on the display" while cpu work at 3-6%, 31°C. In normal use i need 1500 to 2000 mW, pieks with 3000mW. After standby hunger meter says, that standby uses about 900 mW. The differenc between flight mode an normal 3g with mobil data is 200mW. Battery capacity full charged is about 7640mWh.
What is your mW in normal and standby mode. Whats your battery capacity? Please everyone! With drain and normal phone without drain.
Thank you and im hopefull for an solution
I seem to have solved mine: I have a personal, non-gmail email account set up on my Jolla, and set to get new emails in real time. I changed the password to the account but forgot to update it on the phone. This seems to have caused the email account on Jolla constantly trying to login with the expired credentials, which can be seen as signond
process constantly using ~20% cpu time. The problem was solved by updating the email account credentials on Jolla. The phone even feels physically much cooler now.
This implies there are two critical bugs involved:
1) The account constantly trying to login using wrong credentials, despite the attemps failing all the time. This causes the actual battery drain.
2) The user is not notified about expired login credentials.

Kollin ( 2016-01-25 09:00:24 +0200 )editNo problems here, battery life might be even better than before.
Upp15 ( 2016-01-25 09:29:03 +0200 )editYup.. seems if you run native only (ie no alien dalvik) battery life is superb!
SilentWanderer ( 2016-01-25 10:15:07 +0200 )editBig battery drain over here. Even back to 1.1.7.x. And I wish I could use it without dalvik, but there are not enough native apps. But they really should fix this before they release this update to all users.
richdb ( 2016-01-25 10:28:07 +0200 )editI don't get it all the time. But since I've upgraded to 2.0.1.7 I've had a two times when the battery drains rapidly, like in 5 minutes it goes from 36% to 0%. Not sure what causes it. Both times I was using an Android app, although I have also used them without any drain so it must be something else.
