Hello!
I Readed this news IOS 1 jan 1970.
Why in the date and time settings, such as selected in 1920?
The date and time is not less than the selected January 1, 1970 year.
iOS (as well as all Linuxes) use a thing called Unix time (look it up on Wikipedia). It works by counting the seconds that have passed since 00:00 (UTC) 1.1.1970. This way every system can have the same time in an easy format (a natural number) without timezone or cultural issues.
The current time as I write this is about 1455224300 (seconds since the start of 1970)
Okay, I'll post it as comment on the question as I am not sure.

Title: Why can't 1920 be set as the current date in Date and time settings?
Question:
Hello!
I read this news article (link to said article).
Why can't a year earlier than 1970 (such as 1920) be selected under Date and time settings?
The earliest selectable date is 1.1.1970.

I'm more curios why there is a choice til 1920 year(in GUI), if only 1970 year and later can be used in settings?
Jfish ( 2016-02-12 16:56:21 +0200 )editWhat happens when you select it? You get an error, or nothing happen?
Sthocs ( 2016-02-12 22:30:08 +0200 )edit@Sthocs nothing happen.
Jfish ( 2016-02-13 06:56:52 +0200 )editOkay, I misunderstood your question. Maybe Jolla supports negative timestamps so you can set your birthdays?
