As I've only found the one article mentioning no availability outside of India, coupled with virgi's info, I've made the answer a wiki. for when we learn more.
I didn't think we would see Sailfish Tablets being sold from China either, but a few users here on TJC have bought them and are convinced they have a genuine item, I hope they have, I'm thinking of getting one myself!....so, who knows eh, in reality.
