I am unable to install apps from Aptoide on the Jolla tablet except the ones available in the separate Jolla store. However, Microsoft OneNote is not available in the Jolla store even if Microsoft Excel and other office apps are there. Trying to install from other stores, results in two scenarios.

  1. apps.store.aptoide.com

When selecting this store, you get routed to bazaar.aptoide.org but that site is not found.

  1. nowkin.store.aptoide.com (and others)

Here, you get an error in XML format from imgs.aptoide.com.

Any ideas on how to get OneNote (and others) installed?

This happened with the opsys version that came with the tablet and also with the latest Taalojärvi.

There is somekind of compatibility issue and that is why Jolla made separate Aptoide store just for tablet for apps that has been tested to work with tablet and there isn't much you can do about it. Maybe you could try installing Play-store and install it from there or ask some smarter people on here or TMO if they can help you through how to install those apps without the evil Google.

Ive had problems installing apps from the jolla aptoide store (eg MS Word) and even then when Ive gone to another store and downloaded and installed, I dont get the icon - but can run from within apptoide, so something funny going on in there

Quick solution - you google for 'onenote apk' from your tablet and click the file when you find it..

Managed to install it with this info but it crashes. I guess that is why it is not included in the available apps.

What stores have you subscribed to? Note that "jolla" is different than "jolla-tablet-store". Try to subscribe to "jolla" and "apps" and then try again. Don't use the search tool (clicking a store icon there causes the scenario you described), but just click Subscribe Store button at the bottom, write the store name there and click Subscribe.
