I'm not buying another phone from Jolla until some basics are covered! Spare battery for Jolla C, is it going to be available on regular basis?

For heavy users batteries have a limited effective working life so a replacement is crucial.

Importing something outside the EU is ridiculous paperwork and customs taxes!

@Kollin Only if the price of the spare battery exceeds the limit for taxes (at least in Findland if the price of the object is low, under 22e I think, you don't have to pay import tax when ordering outside of EU).

I hope that availability of batteries in India will not exempt Jolla from having them in the store! :/

Not quite a solution, but I just managed to hack a 3rd party battery to fit in the Jolla C. The UMI X2 battery has the same size and keying as the Jolla C, but different contacts. I had a skilled colleague of mine stick three small stripes of copper tape in place of the Jolla C contacts and connected them to the original contacts using wire wrapping wire, and sealed the joint with Kapton tape. It is currently working in my Jolla C.

Could you post a picture of this? The battery of my JollaC started to become very thick. And I have a bit fear of charging it.

As sorry I am to inform this, I waited spare batteries for original Jolla phone for 2 years and contacted their support multiple times requesting them. Never did happen, so I'm 100% sure the Jolla C wont get any available spare batteries... atleast not officially.

The company totally lied also in the spesifications page saying "user replaceable battery"... dunno where that came from. After cracking the screen accidentally and not being able to have it ghanged it even as a paying customer... I just let go and now having an Android phone..

The lesson learned is not to buy products from off market. Just go to local store and if the phone is not found there with pheripherals.. don't buy it. I can't explain why i liked Jolla in the beginning... maybe it was DIT and LOVE hype..

In Jolla C its even worse, as the company does not hold any responsibily over the device and if its dead on arrival - ** happen.

There are (or at least was) 3rd party batteries for Jolla Phone and the "user replaceable battery" is correct as user can change battery since the back side comes off and the battery isn't glued or anything to the device. Jolla C is a developer device and it was sold without any kind of warranty so you knew (or should have been aware, shame on you if you didn't read the description) what you were into when you ordered.

I did not buy Jolla C (due to the warranty issue). I cannot see any mention of me buyng Jolla C in my earlier post.

I can understand that you're angry, I too expected more communication, like "hey we screwed up and forgot to order the additionnal batteries with the phones". But the DIT did happen, thanks to it we all know that a HTC Desire 310 bartery works perfectly in the Jolla 1 :)

Jolla does not produce hardware anymore.. So you can go buy it at the nearest Intex store or any store that sells Intex products. and don't worry, Intex will produce spare-everything for Aqua Fish for a long time.

Unfortunately, Intex is not willing to send a spare part microphone to Europe, even if I offered that as a substitute for their warranty obligation.
