[2.0.2.45] [bug] search engine in Sailfish-Browser malfunction + workaround [released]
Tapping on the address bar in Sailfish Browser opens up an input field that used to work as a search engine input if no valid url is entered.
In 2.0.2.45 every input is interpretet as an url and .com is added, e.g. searching for the term jolla directly leads to jolla.com
Also the option in settings - app - sailfish-browser - search engine is empty First public mention by TMavica. and Schturman
EDIT, workaround: As nthn and pichlo suggested, installing coderus Search engines for Sailfish-Browser fixes inabillity to search in the browser by selecting an alternative engine from the browsers app settings. So only google is missing after this workaround.

PS : This is annoying as f.

pichlo ( 2016-06-19 21:11:32 +0200 )editWorks for me with searx as my search engine set through coderus' search engines package from OpenRepos. However, a search of just one word ends up going to http://word, which of course never works, but this was already the case before this update.
nthn ( 2016-06-19 21:15:51 +0200 )editSame here....
Schturman ( 2016-06-19 21:43:24 +0200 )editReally: Add ddg.gg as search engine, Midori did't it, Epiphany did't and we should do it here, too.
