When the events view is activated from home or any application, leaving it with an up or down swipe will get you to the view you were before and a side swipe will take you to the home screen. But if you activate the events view from the lock screen or the launcher view all swipes will take you to the home screen.

There's always the side swipe available if you want to go from the events view to the home screen.

Sometimes I just look at notifications but don't act on them and then I want to go back to the lock screen to have my Jolla to sleep fast (and don't have to do a swipe down to close the screen).

Edit: added information that the launcher view is also affected.

Hm? That's weird.
I tried to do what you described, but
- from Lock/Home/Launcher to Events (swipe up), all variants of swipe up / swipe down / swipe from side (tried both) makes me end up on Home screen
- opening an app (first takes me to Home, unless I began there, then to the app) and then to Events (swipe up), and then swipe up / swipe down, and I return to the app
- opening an app (first takes me to Home, unless I began there, then to the app) and then to Events (swipe up), and then swipe from side (again: tried both) makes me end up on Home screen

i.e. - in short: everything, except from app and then swipe up or down (which returns me to the app), ends up at Home.

(edit: My Launcher presently covers two pages - tried above from both.)

@phle: You're right. I didn't try from the launcher (I seldom use the launcher and if I do just to launch an application, never to linger). I'll update the question to reflect the behavior you described.

Suggestion: make up and down swipe always take you back to the screen that was active, including the lock and launcher view.

Edit: added launcher view to the suggestion.

(see my comment under your "question"!, this is part of my train of thoughts ;-) )

Your suggestion makes sense, though, and is in line with how it's described in the User Guide:
Events view
Swiping up from the bottom of the screen always gets you to Events where you can see what's happening - swipe up again to close Events.
Treasure: You can leave Events with a sideways swipe to get back to Home too.

Swipe up (at least) should result in returning to where I swiped up, be it Lock, Home or any page in Launcher.
Swiping from any side, though, should return me to Home.
(Not sure about swipe down (top to center).)

Yes, the side swipe should be kept as is. I'm arguing about the up and down swipes.

Yep, and I agree with you on that - you should remove Launcher from the first sentence in the question as well, as that is what still makes me puzzled. :-)

@phle: done. Thanks for spotting. :)
