All was working fine at 2am this morning. I went to bed, got up at 8am, decided to carry on with last nights idea, opened puTTY to connect to my Jolla1 but the ssh window stays blank - no prompt for password, nothing, just a flashing cursor in puTTY window.

I've restarted Developer Mode, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled Developer mode, tried a new profile in puTTY, but still I cannot connect. I don't understand how it can be working the night before and then in the morning, no more SSH'ing into my PC - what gives?, anyone else experienced this scenario?

I don't have wifi, so I cannot test that avenue. I have tried another USB cable, no difference (existing cable works for PC Suite mode and I can transfer data back and forth, but still no access via SSH with puTTY).

It's the same deal if I try to connect to WinSCP with my Jolla1, the connection window just sits at "Searching for host" and the connection times out.

Any suggestions welcomed.

did you check if the ip address of your jolla or your network device changed? are you able to ping the phone?

The ip address is the same as it has always been 192.168.2.15. How do I 'ping' the device?, bearing in mind I am using Windows 7 64bit on my PC.

open CMD box, type ping 192.168.2.15

Thanks @Andrik, I will try that shortly. It seems my device is having some sort of fit this morning!, sigh.

I downgraded the device from 2.0.3.14 to the latest Aurajoki release - SSH via USB is now working again. Not the fix I was looking for but it solves my problem of not being able to SSH via USB.
