August is a lazy month so lets make a poll of some sort.

You get to have one native app that you will pay 10 euros (or the equivalent in your local currency) for. What is it.

Rules:

One answer per person and only one app.

Must be something not having to do with the core os.

Separate answers so others can upvote/downvote.

For those willing to chip in for app development, a place like Bountysource could be suitable to show that interest: How to post a Bounty

Interesting poll. Looking to the (far) future it may even be that native apps (on Android, iOS and Windows) will lose importance and be replaced by so called "progressive web apps": Native Apps are Doomed

Progressive web apps will strengthen Sailfish OS as more and more companies will start to provide browser-based applications instead of native. This may sound like utopia to you now, but the process has already started. So it seems that an awesome (native!) browser will be the most important app for the future of Sailfish OS. The linked article is a good starting point to create your first progressive web app (don't forget to test it on Sailfish OS!). Or try out some progressive web apps now: https://pwa.rocks/

I think this should be a Wiki post.

This is other thing than paying. Jolla should give an alternative method (i.e connmanctl) to be used e.g. with Situations app in addition to totally block connmanctl in e.g. Situations for wifi, bt and flight mode. Thus we as users could choose with our own risks. Let me say, this should be worth 10 euros or a pint of beer.

I'd really like a good photo viewer, with support for folders. I've only been on Sailfish two days and already love it; as expected, its only app support that lets it down, though much to my surprise, I've got my Pebble watch working with it, must go back and donate to the dev of RockPool. Anyone got any ideas on how to type quickly and accurately on the native keyboard, I spend more time correcting than typing!

Gallery from f-droid is the app you're looking for

rfa ( 2018-03-29 00:31:33 +0300 )edit

Thanks for that, downloaded f-droid and installed what I think is the app you refer to, it is certainly much better than the stock one, only annoying thing, it sees all my album art; went in to settings and discovered the option to exclude folders, but it won't let me navigate to the sd card, which is where my music lives; any ideas?

judderman ( 2018-03-31 00:01:14 +0300 )edit

I have sorting by most recent, so album art only shows when adding new media. Sorry I'm not more helpful

that kind of photo viewer would be great as native app...

I would pay 10€s for a well-working native Matrix/Riot Client without hesitation.

RiotX on Aliendalvik drains the battery really fast which makes it unusable for daily-driving.

Landscaped cover patch, like on old SFOS versions. The possibility to see the full window app inside cover.

There are many apps that are worth paying for on the Google Play Store. If I were to choose some apps for paying 10 Euros I would prefer apps from Entertainment category. The first one being a game called Mekorama and the second one being a video player MX Player
