DESCRIPTION:

Jolla C connects to the car media system with bluetooth. Calling and phonebook sharing works fine.

Media streaming with the Sailfish OS media player works as excptected.

Streaming through other applications like cutespot or any android music application is not recognised from the car media system as media streaming.

If you first play music from the media app, and then press play in any other music app the music pauses from the media application and the other music app is playing through the car system for about 1-2 seconds. Then the car system closes the stream. The application keeps playing but you can't hear anything.

With Jolla 1 it works as excpected in the same car system. I've tried with a newer model of the same car and it works fine with Jolla C.

As the Sailfish OS media player works it should be able to get this to work for the whole system also.

I'm gladly helping out, if someone knows any way with gathering logs or what not.

PRECONDITIONS:

  • Jolla C
  • Mercedes Benz A-class media system (2014)

BUILD VERSION & TYPE: 2.0.4.14 (and earlier) Edit: Tested with 2.0.5.6 and 2.1.0.9, same behavior.

PLATFORM: Jolla C

I'm assuming this uses A2DP? As I'm not on early access, I cannot really test it with the Jolla C though.

So far, with 2.0.2.51, this has worked fine with an X-Mini Bluetooth speaker, as well as my Blaupunkt Toronto 410 Car Stereo. I usually listen to podcasts played from within gpodder, but also Tunein Android worked flawlessly.

@speactra Since you have a Jolla C and installed the 2.1.0.9 early access version, did you try to use the Bluez5 stack and tested it with your car again (pls read the release information regarding Bluez5 first)?

@Alex Yes, i've tried. With bluez5 active I can establish a connection to various bluetooth-devices but not stream media at all. Audio goes through the speakers on the phone. I've tried with a headset, speaker and the car-system. Also with bluez5 i can't connect to my Pebble 1. Reverting back to bluez everything works as before.
