Sailfish-maps not in shop from Aquafish and others - SFOS 2.0.4.14 [answered]

Hello everybody,

I would like to use the Sailfish maps app as I'm used to on my Jolla 1 in my Aquafish.

May you help me out with a workarround or a soltuion on this please.

WORKARROUND: was that someone sent me the pakage BUT .... after having updatet to 2.0.5.6 the following packages got removed and I could not install the sailfish-maps package anymore.

I'm also wondering if we'll now get slowly forced to use the one or other android software!? Until this point I was able to use the SMART phone as such ... without android support.

I believe Sailfish maps are only available for Jolla1, not for Jolla C or Aqua Fish models. As an alternative you can use PoorMaps, or what Jolla would suggest the Android version of HERE WeGo maps.

Correct. Sailfish Maps is available for Jolla 1 and Jolla Tablet in Jolla Store. It is not available for Jolla C or Aqua Fish.

Here WeGo, in turn, is available for Jolla C or Aqua Fish in Jolla Store. Here WeGo is not a Sailfish app (sigh) but it has complete navigation skills including voice guidance (which Sailfish Maps does not have).

@megalith can you edit post to ask for sailfish-maps added feature for partner phone Turing, Aquafish, Jolla C, etc.

I dont have it either but Sailfish 2.0.4.14 doesnt allow to choose alternative standard mapping app, as shown in People app cant select show on map for address.

@schturman The package is not available for me as well here on a "converted" AquaFish (although I'm using the customer-jolla repo).

Do you mind sharing your repository list ("ssu lr") with us, so I can see if I'm missing a repo?

datet to 2.0.4.14 with my Intex model I also No real news on this topic yet from @Jolla.

After having updatet to 2.0.4.14 with my Intex model I also had not found the maps app on my phone. So I have found a nice feller who have sent me the package.

Now after updating to 2.0.5.6 the following packages got removed and I could not install the sailfish-maps package anymore. I hope to extraxt the needed packages from my Jolla 1 and install them again but it seems for sure wanted that they remove these packages.
