option to paid for commercial components [duplicate]
There are now many community port that work (I have a fairphone and I'm happy with it.), more than official phone. https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Adaptations/libhybris But the main problem is that there is no ommercial components. My idea is : Can jolla sell the alien dalvik registered customers, who paid for aliend dalvik and / or other commercial components like Exchange Activesync or XT9 from Jolla Store.
Adventage :
strengthening the link with the community.
Make earn money to Jolla (and I think Jolla need money)
Increase the number of user / developer
Return jolla independent of the manufacturer
Allow the community to have one more wide selection of device
It's a truly unlike way of make business
This has been suggested before somewhere.

Federico ( 2016-11-12 23:59:03 +0200 )editOk, I'll close it. But many question and proposal and no answer or explanation from Jolla. They can juste say, "no", "we work on it" or explain the situation and their policy. Fairphone do (https://forum.fairphone.com/t/will-sailfish-os-be-officially-supported-on-the-fp2/16839/31). Perhaps if they do it their is no more Again and again the same question. I have a JP1 since 2013 and And the comunication is always their weak point
