Screen auto-brightness modulating uncontrollably.
I have a bug where my Turing Dark Wyvern phone sailfish 2.0.4.14 is constantly cycling and modulating from medium brightness to exteme brightness.
This is happening even as incandescent indoor room lighting isn't changing neither the position of the phone. Not to mention it hasnt done that the last 4months.
The sensor seems very sensitive all of a sudden to ambient light changes. Might be hardware but my bet is on a software / hardware integration bug.
Do you have "Adjust Automatically" enabled? If you do, what happens when you disable it?
greendts ( 2016-11-19 06:02:32 +0200 )edit@greends the auto adjust stops and it maintains brightness at constant level.
DarkTuring ( 2016-11-20 06:07:00 +0200 )edit@DarkTuring: There have been after-boot issues with other devices (kernel reporting incorrect display brightness / als sensor in some odd stage) which then disappear after power cycling display and/or light sensor.
Could be helpful to find out what might be the problem if you issues happen only after reboots or also after manually toggling the auto brightness setting off and back on again.
spiiroin ( 2016-11-21 11:52:27 +0200 )edit@spiiroin i will test it next time it happens, since i turned auto off but then at some point my battery died amd after reboot and turning it back on it had disappeared.
What logging could i activate to record the sensor values while it is doing it? I have a CSD tool but that only shows if it works or not and doesnt cocontinuously measure.
