html5test.com gives Jolla's browser a decent rating (428/555 points), meaning it's OK, but lots of features are still unsupported...

The Sailfish Browser is fully open source. If you are able to help with this effort, please head over to https://github.com/sailfishos/sailfish-browser to see the code, and contact the developers there via email or IRC :-)
May be Jolla should think of some stimulation for those taking part in the development? That would be a good profit for everybody. (I'm not a dev by the way, so, I'm not talking about my own direct material profit ;-) )

I just wanted to revive this stone old thread for an updated result. I just checked the page again with the Sailfish Browser from v2.0.5.6 and the result is only 389 Points that's 30 points less than in 2014.
Officially WebRTC is also not supported anymore, as shown in the test results. Quite interesting. IceCatMobile 45.6.0 (based on Firefox ESR) is getting 414 Points by the way.
@MartinK Yes they are adding more tests. Guys it is not good to be 100% compliant! Think for example the new Battery Status API! What was it used for 99% of the time after browsers implemented it? It was used for TRACKING you! I think developers should implement/enable new features but not on the expense of user privacy. And not just because the browser scores better on a test.

What confuses me a bit is that Sailfish Browser is based on Gecko/Firefox Engine, yet Firefox gets 446 Points. I always thought it's more like the same engine with a different GUI but looks that more things are missing. Wouldn't it be possible to use "more Firefox" inside the browser? When you type about:addons into the adress bar you get the same add-ons page that you see in Firefox as well... so they are not too far away...
My Firefox 40.0.3 on Sailfish 1.1.7.28 Scores 471 out of 555. Beats me why there is no native Firefox for Jolla yet. I have tried most browsers available for the platform (WebCat, WebPirate, Jolla Native one, Opera... ) and while some come with some handy feature I only get near desktop performance on Firefox.
And it shows: fore example the Firefox 40 now can take advantage from microphone and camera through WebRTC. Check Meet.Jit.Si: for (video) conferencing, looks promising , especially for the Jolla Tablet.

With the new update (1.1.2.16) I've just installed, Jolla Browser got a new UI. But what makes me wonder, at html5test.com Jolla browser scores 420 points now. It was 422 on 1.1.1.27, and looking at the question by @sjn it was 428 points a year ago… Is it really a regress? Are there any other changes in the browser with this new update, or is it just a new UI?
And, by the way, does anybody can tell what version Jolla browser is now? As html5test.com claims it to be version 1.0 still…
Edit: Half a year and a few system updates later there's no change. Can anyone tell, are we gonna have some improvements in the browser? It's been long-long ago since we had one. Or Jolla teem has been too focused on the tablet development and the new interface?… (((

The score is 398/555 in 2.1.0.9 We certainly should target the full 555 score!

Have you seen the scores of mobile browsers? There the Jolla browser is ranking #5 (better than Android and IOS), which is pretty awesome for an OS that is still in beta!

There a many app developers who are not willing to port their apps on Jolla but already have an HTML5 site. For example Lastpass refused my request for a Jolla app but their mobile website just doesn't work on Jolla browser. It's the same thing with Wunderlist also.
