OpenMobile ACL vs Aliendalvik
Which one provides better android app support? ACL is used in Tizen. If someone has used both, can give some idea.

it appears to be only only half open; no gain there i guess
tortoisedoc ( 2017-01-13 08:41:27 +0300 )editHere was a thread compairing Tizen with Sailfish some time ago. If I remember correctly Tizen can NOT use apk like we can in Sailfish it seems like they need to be at least repacked if not re-compiled. I think it was because ACL works this way, but I could be wrong. Here is the link: https://together.jolla.com/question/80570/feedback-tizen-os-vs-sailfish-os/
PatsJolla ( 2017-01-13 09:27:35 +0300 )editAccording to their homepage, the ACL is muktiplatform wrapper for Android apps, and it can chew untouched APK's
iKeivs ( 2017-01-14 05:26:21 +0300 )editHad OpenMobiles ACL on WebOS and Tizen. It is very limited slow and buggy in comparison to aliendalvik
leszek ( 2017-01-14 14:29:45 +0300 )editI read Tizen does not allow to install third-party APK files, you can only install Android apps through the Tizen store: https://samsung.tizenforum.com/qa-52/how-to-install-apk-files-on-this-device/https://samsung.tizenforum.com/qa-65/how-to-install-apk-file/ So the Android compatibility seems more restricted on Tizen, there is less freedom and you can't test your own APK files like in SailishOS.
