Better camera: SFOS Port? Crowdfunding?

Hi,

I'm looking for a midrange, quality mobile with (very) good camera that runs SFOS. Best devices for this case would be oneplus x or oneplus one afaik. Both of them are 'hard' to buy now, because only used phones are available, which is not really my thing.

Is there a way to get SFOS on recent and good HW a little bit faster? Most ports are for older HW. Maybe with a crowdfunding campaign we could get a port to a new model with good specs and good camera?

I also would like to know, how a port works with updates in general, because I'm just a user of SFOS and have no development skills: if a device is ported one time, will all coming updates be compatible? Or is it more likely that the next official version will crash on this phone and you have to port it again?

Thank you!

No great HW for jolla. Simply too tiny.

Ports needs comstant adjustments or they simple dies. Development is never code once.

THX @Dave999! What could be the price for a port? Can't say if it would be 1000 or 100.000$... Just know, that there are many users which would love to have better HW with much better camera. Maybe a crowdfunding could be done for 2.0.6 and after that a community would exist, which does the next port or a second crowdfunding will do the trick?

So, I have no idea which mobile could be 'good' HW and don't know how much developer time a port needs. Just know, I love SFOS on Intex and would love it much more one good HW with good and fast camera ;-)

let's wait for new nokias - I really hope Jolla people will make the port, if not for other reason but for themselves... ;)

e.g. Nokia 6 seems to be quite ok device for its price...

Even when the Lumias still sold nobody did a port of SFOS.I assume because it didnt run Android at the first place.

and the bootloader was locked afaik for all wp ohones...

I really hope HMD will not make that stupid move and leave it open. Nokia did it because of M$ partnership and exclusibity bs#it, N9/N950 was open before - latter onevwasvthe very firstvSailfish device back then!

HMD is not in any such situation, they are device manufacturers, they want to sell in volumes - with any sw it is bought from them...

and, I really hope two Finnish company will do interwork, nobody knows what happens inthe darkness of hidden saunas of Nordic forests... ;)

I really hope for having next community devices made by HMD. Having Nokia logo or not does not count that much - if only the logo is the diffetence. and the OS, of course... :D
