Aqua Fish with & without Jolla C image not able to connect to 3G AT&T USA [answered]

Trying to figure out what the hiccup is, as the specs for the Aqua Fish show that US 3G frequency should be supported, but the Intex specific specs in the box say only 2 instead of 3 frequencies supported..which i attribute to the droid-modem-id vs droid-modem-eu, which at least implies that software is turning off a hardware feature, but also not clear.

Just adding tried this out on both the "stock jolla C" version 2.0.2.43 and the updated 2.1.0.9.

I am opening this ticket even though there are many that talk about it but to see if there is more behind the 'Denied' part in terms of 3G where it sees AT&T but when selected it gives the Oops error on connecting, whereas in 2G it sees nothing and since 2G is not supported by AT&T at all anymore I would expect that if the frequency did not work.

Looking for others to share thoughts on this.

@DarkTuring yeah do you get 'Denied' if you manually try to connect to 3G or 4G?

Try to connect to the network U.S CELLULAR then could get 3G-4G some areas - Also convert a intex aqua fish to jolla c . droid-modem-id stay.That @coderus said it.

@caballlero my Aquafish is converted to Jolla C no luck, prior the 4G LTE worked using stock software.

@caballlero how do you change jolla c droid-modem-id ?

DarkTuring ( 2017-02-13 04:22:33 +0200 )edit

@DarkTuring I could not get it to work, but pkcon remove droind-modem-in removes the India version and automatically installs droid-modem-eu

However at least with AT&T i had no luck with it connecting to 4G after whereas before 4G worked.
