There are 5 type of phone numbers available (Mobile, Home, Work, Fax, Pager) in the contacts, but as of now I can add only one of each. How can I add multiple mobile numbers? (additionally, perhaps rename the type to distinguish between two mobile numbers or two landline numbers)

Interestingly enough if the imported (from vcf) contact have had multiple mobile numbers, it shows up fine, so the People app is capable of handling it, only the type-changer "pop-up" is "under-optimal" :)

I think you cannot do that. Seems like a bug. You also cannot change phone number type after it's added (I tried long tap, double tap and swipe in various places - none seem to do anything).

You can change the type in the Edit view of the contact. Long-tap on the desired number/e-mail then a little pop-up comes.

However, this has an other bug :) Unfortunatelly I cannot write it here into the comment window, as it is too long to describe ;)

Strange I think I tried that. Maybe there was some update already :-). Thanks that solves the problem of changing type (though you cannot change type to the ones you already added).

This was intentional behavior, to restrict the detail modifications to have only one of each type. We have since decided to remove this restriction, but it has not yet been implemented. It is purely a UI restriction, the types of details are not restricted by backend or middleware.

UPDATE: ...and now this is fixed in 1.0.3.8 Naamankajärvi. Hurray! :-)

I seem to remember that in Symbian times that had to be done because MailForExchange (ActiveSync protocol itself or common implementations?) did not support multiple numbers of the same type. Is it solved nowadays? Or who cares about Exchange contacts storage?

And what about the ability to distinguish them? I have contacts who works in several places, with a different phone number for each one. I would like to call mycontact at office1 or mycontact at office2 etc.

At the "good old times of Symbian" you could actually edit the labels themselfs... I'd LOVE to have that back, because office1 and office2 doesn't ring any bell (sic) which is which, but officeCITY1 or officeUSETHIS might....

Hi!

I see that this has been fixed on yesterday update (1.0.3.8), so I wonder what should I do? Should I delete all my contacts, and the readd them from gmail so they are not labeled under home?

Thanks!
