I am completely new in Jolla! That said, I have just purchased an used Jolla1 from an user, that helped me to make a factory reset and a first upgrade step, before I left him with my new phone.

Now I have noticed that under System> Accounts> Jolla the Word "testme" appears. If I select Add Account no Jolla is offered.

So I suppose I have this scenario:

  • My predecessor must have added a Jolla User account named testme, just for the sake of helping the upgrade to happen, but I do not know neither the associated mail address, nor the password. In fact https://account.jolla.com does not accept my mail address.
  • I then created a new jolla account, from outside of my phone, but now how can I connect it to the phone?
  • I could do again a Factory Reset. I could bear the time loss that it will bring.
  • But it will cost me both money and resources, as I can only use the cellular network (my data Counter says I have used 1 GiB for downloads, mainly while upgrading form Sailfish 1.x.x to 2.0.5.6).
  • And I would appreciate a more elegant way!

Questions:

  • Am I right in my assumptions?
  • Is there perhaps some commando for deleting the Jolla account?

You might be better off by contacting support for that account messing on account.jolla.com.

For the on device messing, you can remove the account by longtap>delete, only after that you get the option for a new account.

PS Everything on your precious device is hidden behind swipes and longtaps. Did you follow the tutorial, the app should still be in your launcher.

and you can also just tap the present account and on the actual account page pull your finger downwards, it will show the so called pulley menu and an option to change credentials ;)
