[Bug] [2.1.0.11] Browser crashes randomly in 2.1.0.11/lijoki
Since the 2.1.0.11 update, the Sailfish default browser crashes randomly when opening/loading web pages. It seems that loading any data from internet causes the random closes.
There is no especific patterns. Browser just crashes sometimes when opening, sometimes when loading web pages.
Is there any solution?
SFOS browsers from 2.0 on (including 2.1) seem to trigger the kernel OOM killer much more often than previous versions. (I assume the browser is stopped that way.) Curiously, I cannot restart the browser just after such an event. I have to wait about half a minute to restart the browser; starting it without waiting a while just does not succeed. I have no idea how to find out what actually happens in these cases, but I'd be glad to help.
Maus ( 2017-04-21 19:01:29 +0200 )editCould be memory related. I've had segfaults - see https://together.jolla.com/question/157006/browser-segfault-on-theguardiancom/ but not since that. Blank screens, freezes, flashing coloured stripes, but not crashes. But I don't run Android stuff, and rarely have > 2 apps open.
DaveRo ( 2017-04-22 10:33:49 +0200 )editI don't know in any way what's the real problem with the estrange working of the Sailfish web browser. I'm actually using both Jolla 1 and OPO Sailfish port and in 2 cases the web browser presents this problem.
ferlanero ( 2017-04-25 16:56:12 +0200 )editIt happens with me when I first opens a link/the browser it exits 2-3-4 times and then behaves normally, it happens with no other programs open and with android support on...
