AquaFish is better HW then Jolla C, just a bit only but still. For me EVERYTHING about dualSIM, triSIM and moreSIM is essentially&vital.
As nobody has confirmed similar problems, nor any patch, consider this can be a HW problem.
ANYTHING YOU TRY-YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK
If SIM does not contact correctly with slot connectors the device interprets SIM is absent, what means impossible are any calling to or from this SIM. It can be caused (most often): (1) dirty connectors (2) a gap between slot connectors and SIM contacts, "too loose" slot, SIM can move inside the slot and connectors are not sticking physically as they ought to. The slot contacts should be like SIM pressing springs. If one or all are bent too much, it may not be the contact, and therefore the device see "no SIM" state.
RE (1) clean SIM card, best way with ethyl alcohol - spirits (best 96%) etc., but any alcohol must be clean - no additions, so not any sweet vodka etc. Clean alcohol removes fat and dust deposits. And don't reacts chemically neither with metal nor plastic. Use a piece of clean cotton to do this. (2) (a) if SIM inserted into slot is moveable too easy, especially left-right, consider exchanging a SIM card to a new one. SIM card must have correct geometrical dimensions to fits the slot correctly-ALL dimensions. (b) You could try to use a self-adhesive tape like from 3M or Scotch tape to increase the thickness of the SIM card to increase the pressure on the slot contacts. Place one or more tape layers on SIM card but on the side without (!) metal contacts - note: tape must be fixed to avoid separation etc. (c) Sometimes but only if you are skilled enough - you can try unbent connectors using a pin (Phone off, charger disconnected, all SIM and battery disassembled, AND MOST important be careful as your hand should be grounded like for soldering electronics to avoid static electricity which can brick the device!). You must not damage slot-a broken contact can be unrepairable.
Off topic: Forgive me my curiosity: have you really flashed your mobile from Jolla C to AquaFish? Why? Wouldn't be easier to buy an original AquaFish? The opposite direction would be better from AquaFish to Jolla C I think. Jolla C and AquaFish are very similar but not identical internally devices - however I don't suppose this would have any influence on your problem with control of switching SIMs.
