I managed to get google play movies & tv working by modifying the build.prop file to make it think it's a samsung device.

I can watch movies with no problem, but it will not allow me to download to the device as it says there is no external memory installed.

I have an SD card installed in the device. Anyone know a way of making android think an sdcard is installed?

Well there are tweaks here to mount your home and even android storage to the SD Card which will let android apps use your SD Card for all storage purposes and will be a good solution to your issue. Here is a thread on the issue here https://together.jolla.com/question/108669/11928-mounting-sd-card-as-home-partition-and-android-storage/ and this is the very one I have been using since SFOS 1.1.9.28 and with this you don't have to alter system files http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=1486543#post1486543 It will not only solve your issue but will shield you from a lot of BTRFS issues in the future

But isn't this method just expanding the internal memory visible to Android apps? While it is sufficient to provide practically unlimited storage to Alien Dalvik, it does not provide access to a memory / SD card. Android apps keep to see only internal storage.

Well I thought giving more storage to Alien Dalvik was the concern here as the one that asked this question wants to download but no SD is detected by Android apps error is the restrain, having unlimited storage on the SD Card for android apps is what that tweak does. Maybe there might be another way round the issue, but here there is no need for android apps to need the SD card storage since they just see it as one very large phone storage
