Hi, Currently transferring music from my Mac (iTunes) to Jolla is a drag.* Please introduce a easy drag-and-drop feature to transfer music effortlessly to my phone. (Desktop app connecting via Bluetooth(x) - or rather connect via USB cable or WiFi - would be REALLY welcome).

Currently I need to connect my phone via Bluetooth, then choose Send File option and find the files (mostly one by one) in a "Finder window". It would ease the music management by a mile if I could send multiple files straight from iTunes (e.g. after listening to them, selecting multiple songs from numerous artists etc).

(Can't get the SFTP to work, but trying... although I still think it is rather a work-around than a solution)

Ages ago I used CyberDuck on a Mac for sftp. It should be straight forward and drag and drop.

I tried, did not get it to work. All the developer mode, sftp settings, user name "nemo" etc. But no... no success.

But I agree, that it would be a OK work around, if there is no native application.

Hm, sorry for that. First check, if the IP-address is correct (in Settings->Developer Tools). Don't use the hostname of Jolla, because most home routers don't resolve properly on LAN. Second, try to connect with user nemo, pwd and ip-address. When CyberDuck waits for the connection, wake up Jolla (by double tap or power button or else) otherwhise there may be a timeout.

And... it is the native solution ;) That's what I like so much about Jolla.

Ahhh, always the small details. It works now. What was wrong? All settings were right, and correct from the get-go. What needed to be fixed was that, Jolla went to sleep (stand-by) while I set things up on the computer, thus the connection timed out.

So, new feature request: wake up Jolla, if there is an incoming SFTP request (package sending) :).

Bluetooh connection for music sync in 2017? Can you even imagine how long take to send file with few MB?

Solution is pretty simple - use inbuilt SFTP server for working with files. Just view this topic How to setup SFTP.

You are right, Bluetooth would take ages. But even still, if I go via SFTP I need to first create a "temp" folder where I copy the music from iTunes; then connect and send those files to the phone, and finally delete the "temp" folder, to prevent duplicates of music remaining on the computer.

What I would like to see is a easy music managing app/platform where I can easily drag-drop files from the iTunes music folder and it gets synced with the music on the phone. If it uses automatic SFTP, that would be great as well. Like: connect the phone and right away I can access the music and images to sync / manage from the computer.

.... or just get Spotify Premium.

Maybe not entirely what you are looking for, but I am syncing my music via rsync.

rsync -r -v --progress --ignore-existing -i -s --exclude *.mood /home/johnny/Music/ nemo@sailfish:/media/sdcard/7A79-6D37/Musik/

Install Android File Transfer: https://www.android.com/filetransfer/

It works perfectly with SailfishOS and you can access system memory and SD card.

Connect your Jolla to your Mac via USB and chose Media Transfer (MTP) on SailfishOS
Open Android File Transfer on macOS
Drag & drop songs directly from iTunes to your phone

I hope it works for you - thats' how I always transfer my songs.

I have tried it couple times, but never got it to work :( Unfortunately. That's why I would prefer a Jolla native application on a Desktop, with which one could easily manage content. Similar what iPhone and iTunes do.

With Android File Transfer I get "Could not connect to device" all the time.
