Can't setup Jolla account after 2.1.1.23 update attempt

Hi, both Jolla1 and Jolla C failed the update. Recovery mode and factory reset on both phones. Jolla1 can't connect to store, either with current account or with a new one. (Oops,problem with account creation/problem with checking username availability) Can't enable developer mode either. Could it be some certificate issue with the store access on a too old SW version? At least the browser tells me the jolla.com isn't secure and needs an exception. What now?
After adding in a SIM card a rebooting again it seemed to work and I managed to get the account added. Might be related or then it was on the server end. Well anyhow, now it is updating the first update of many...
