Issue:

Android app cannot be deleted if Android Support is disabled.

Steps to recreate the problem:

  1. Enable Android Support.
  2. Install any android app using its .apk package.
  3. Run and use the android app once or twice.
  4. Disable Android Support.
  5. Disable Start Android Support on bootup.
  6. Restart the phone.
  7. Scroll to app from the home screen.
  8. Long press the android app until an x appears over the icons.
  9. Tap on the x on the android app.
  10. The remorse timer appears with the message that it will remove the app.
  11. After the remorse timer countdowns to zero and disappears, the android app icon remains on the screen.

Resolution:

  1. Go to Settings and enable Android Support.
  2. Now repeat step 6 to 8.
  3. This time, after the remorse timer countdowns, the app icon disappears from the home screen indicating thst it has been removed / uninstalled.

Expected Behaviour:

An error message should pop-up and inform the user that an android app cannot be deleted / removed / uninstalled if Android Support is disabled.

Hardware: Jolla 1
Software: Sailfish OS build 2.1.0.11 (lijoki), device adaptation 1.0.0.14

@attah - Thanks for pointing that out. I missed it as the search didn't show it.

@sifartech The proper way is probably cleaning up the old post and thus bumping it, but i don't make the rules. Indeed your post is cleaner. I just serarched for "uninstall android".

@attah - I was searching for "delete android" :). Yeah, reviving the old thread is better and if I had seen it first that's what I would have done. Anyway, since it is not a wiki, I just posted this same thing as an answer in the older thread.

@sifartech You do know that non-wiki posts are editable by others? (given they have some small minimum of karma points)
