In the "by month" view of the calendar, there is currently a small indication on a day if there is an event on that day. I propose improving this interface by making it behave more similarly to the Fremantle (Maemo 5) calendar. This consists of multiple changes:

  • Show indication per calendar type (colour) of which there is an event on a given day. For instance, if the "Birthdays" calendar is pink and there is a Birthday event on 26th dec, this would be indicated by a pink dot on that day.
  • Indicate multi-day events as connected lines. Currently, if I create a multi-day calendar entry this is indicated by one marker on each day it occupies, indistinguishable from multiple single-day events. This is extra annoying if you add an two-week event for, say, "holiday in New York", and then can't tell which of these days you have other single-day entries for.

These suggestions are very good, I was going to submit something of that kind myself (thanks, search function! :P )

Same By me! For me is this calendar app almost useless if I cannot see what actually I have on exact day. On month view should be written in small fonts like in aCalendar or similar what is happening on this day. Now is only one dot and You have to point every day to see if it is only a "check email" or You are off in New Zeeland ;)

It would also be nice if the month view would be user configurable to some extent. Having lots of web calendars on the month view (namedays and such, e.g. from www.webcal.fi) would quickly clutter the view if there is no option to select which calendars have their corresponding dot/line shown.

Like amtimilko said (and what I've posted a while ago) check out aCalendar and give the native Jolla calendar a bit more dev power to improve it.

One of the basics, pretty poorly implemented. Week view with more details is needed, too!

Have a look at the Blackberry 10.2 Calendar app. This seems to contain most of these recommendations and works well.
