Hi I encountered a bug,

when using the Browser on the Tablett. I just don't know, whether the following holds true for the phones. When I start the Browser /or maybe it's just the tab) and turn the tablet 90°, then the tab turns white and the can only be read when, turned back.

Hi!

What is your Sailfish OS version (Settings -> About product -> Build)? I tested rotating browser on Jolla tablet and white mask fades away soon after device is rotated. Do you see this always on every website or is this a website specific issue? Why I'm asking is that time that it takes to relayout the web content varies from website to website. We have added some safety guards to avoid getting stuck there indefinitely but cannot recall which software version included those.

I've had the same problem on J1. Today I tried to recreate it but couldn't. Instead I discovered a strange white rectangle on page http://meteo.physic.ut.ee/ It appears every time when the phone is turned. On portrait the reload fixes the page but on landscape breaks totally as seen on this screenshot. I'm on 2.1.1.24.

The white rectangle is definitely something else than white screen after changing device orientation. The white rectangle looks like an error in the frame metrics.

@rainemak Now I found a page that not only shows white but also flashes like hell. This doesn't happen all the time but I could recreate this for several times. Open http://ordi.ee then wait until the big ad on the opening page will show third or fourth page and tap that. This will open new tab. Now close the new tab and open the first one again (you may need to turn the phone while opening the first) and if you're lucky the page will go white or start to flash and you have to close the browser. I did it with J1 on 2.1.1.26

There should be a fix in 2.1.2.x or at least symptoms should no longer be this bad. The error is following. When web page's content length is reported shorter than 1.5 x screen height, the web page is considered as a short meaning that margin that is of the toolbar height is enabled (chrome is locked). Now that margin got enabled, content might get relayoutted and due to that content length might exceed 1.5 x screen height => margin will be removed (gesture can be used to hide/show toolbar). Now you probably see where this is going...

To mitigate the problem 2.1.2.x Sailfish Browser throttles margin changes and tries this way to break infinity loops. Occasionally I have still seen 2-5 blinks but then it stops.

Hi, I also hat the problem with the J1 for exsample with that site:

http://makezine.com/2017/08/11/circuitpython-snakes-way-adafruit-hardware/

But now, a turn follows only an elongated rerendering after each turn. The flickering also also hat for all very long time quite often. But not any more. Don't now why. (No change in Sailfish version). An error I still have often, like very often, as nearly every video after the first, after opening the browser is an offset of the colour red, sometimes also blue(?) and others...
