I do have some issue :-(

I am following the guide on https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/ but the video on this page seems not to have been updated, but anyway you have to follow the procedure on this page. When doing this I face the following issue.

On a Win10 computer, I am not able to install the USB driver on the S1Boot Fastboot, it comes with an error that the Hash to the file do not exist the indicated catalog file. I have tried to download the driver on two different location on Sony’s homepage but with no success. I have also tried to add the Hardware IDs in the android_winusb.inf file, found in the Android Composite ADB Interface Properties (%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0FCE&PID_51E0), sill no success.

On a Linux Mint I did come nearly to the end. Here I do not have to install the drivers. When sending the command >fastboot devices< I am able to see my phone. When sending the command >fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xCEE3B1E4D4A06654< I received the following error, “FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)”.

Are there anyone who have the correct android_winusb.inf for Win10 and are there anyone who can help me what to do when receiving the above error when trying in Linux Mint?

Are you sure your unlock key is correct? Sony unlock keys are device-specific...

Yes the unlock key is correct, was send by E-mail.

Are you really updating your XX to SFOS at the moment? Is it possible allready?

Heh no kidding, of course the SFOS image is not available yet but wouldn't you want to root your device immediately when you buy one?

I am just preparing the phone so I don't have to use so much time when SFOS is released. The Jolla 1 I have has some issues, two bottom lines and one center line are not working and screen is freezing now and then, so hopefully they can releas the SFOS soooooooon. :-)

You need to put your X into developers mode, then go the developer mode and there you can set to unlock your bootloader. After that the error will be not show anymore.

This one I have to clarify :-) To unlock the bootloader, is that under the Developer option? I have put the USB debugging to "On". What you are mention is that the OEM unlocking that must be put to "On"?

Yes the OEM Unlock that is what i mean. and indeed under Developer Options. Dubugging need to be on ON indeed.

On Windows you have to disable checking the drivers signature at their installation in the advanced boot menu (don't know exactly how the specific option is called in the english version). But I recommend Linux for such adventures as the tools available there are much better and easier to use (disclaimer: I am a LOT better with Linux than with Windows)

Here are Apple Mac OS Step by Step Instructions Xperia X:

put phone in developer mode: Menu About Phone, click "Build Number" three times, now your a developer.
In new menu developer options check "OEM unlocking", and USB debugging.
install Android Studio for Mac (i think it includes fastboot).
Turn off phone, have it unplugged from USB, push volume UP button and then with button held plug into USB.
open Mac OS terminal, > cd ~/library/android/sdk/platform-tools ENTER > ./fastboot ENTER should show you all fastboot commands now.
unplug all other usb devices from MAC.
in terminal write >./fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x################ using the ####unlock code found via https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/ process.

NOTES: with < ./fastboot devices ENTER from platform-tools folder should show the plugged in phone and no errors. With unlock command above it will tell you how long it took. Then your done with the unlocking and now have an unsecured, factory reset XPeria X with an unlocked bootloader. Workef for me after a couple tries.

Linux Mint issue solved. Lets hope the Win10 USB driver for the S1Boot Fastboot will be solved for other users.
