Browser open links (from other apps) in new tab broken

Somehow I managed to break the feature to open links in new tab. For example, If I have Browser running on background, and I'm reading email or browsing Sailbook. If I find an interesting link and tap it, it triggers the Browser to raise on foreground. But the browser just shows that previous page I had opened, and does not open the link.

I tried a browser modification, and to remove it I needed to uninstall and reinstall the Browser app. This bug has existed since reinstall. I tried also to switch the default browser to something else (like Webcat) using Mimer, but the bug exists with other browsers too. Any idea (besides resetting device) how to fix this?

Nope. Where should I look for that file?

If it were me, I'd be inclined to simply remove the app and reinstall it. You will need to use terminal (developer mode) to do the following;

Removing sailfish-browser in terminal, pkcon remove sailfish-browser.

Installing sailfish-browser in terminal; pkcon install sailfish-browser

Now try again with some links. I've loosely tried what you suggested and I cannot replicate the behaviour you are experiencing, but more often than not, removing/installing the application again, often sorts the glitches. YMMV.

Reset stuff in Mimer instead of setting a new browser please. Mimer does not handle dbus stuff(which is needed for this feature) so it might have actually introduced the issue for you if you used it to set a different browser as default. If you want webcat as default use its command line option --set-default which handles dbus stuff. Mimer sadly cannot handle the dbus stuff as it cannot know the dbus internal calls for all applications.

Mimer caused the issue mentioned in this question on my phone a couple of times and resetting never fixed it for me, only factory reset.

Mimer reset + reboot helped to get rid of this problem. Thanks!
