[Simple feature suggestion / usability bug] Make the Lockscreen & Lockpad a full carousel [released]
Dear Jolla team,
please make the two Lockscreen screens (the actual Lockscreen and the Lockpad, when activated) fully a carousel.
Currently (under SailfishOS 2.1.1.26) one can swipe from the Lockscreen to the Lockpad in either direction (left or right), but the only way back from the Lockpad to the Lockscreen is by swiping in the opposite direction used for swiping to the Lockpad.
IMO this inconsistent UI behaviour constitutes an usability bug: Lockscreen & Lockpad should be either a full carousel (preferably, IMO) or simply ordered "the Lockpad is to the right of the Lockscreen". The current behaviour is confusing, as it constitutes "half a carousel"!
As fixing this inconsistency as suggested here would be a simple extension of the existing UI behaviour, not possibly interfering with accustomed use patterns, no negative impact is to be expected.
This tiny change would make the UI behaviour of the Lockscreen & Lockpad consistent with the Homescreen & Eventsview, when Settings--> Gestures --> Quick events access
is activated (i.e. a carousel).
You may (alternatively to above suggestion) introduce an option like that for the Lockscreen / Lockpad, too.
Best regards & happy sailing
Im not sure I get the point here. Isn't it already a caroussel?
I mean between the lock screen and the lock pad?
tortoisedoc ( 2017-09-18 22:53:59 +0200 )editWell (at least on my Jolla 1 phone with SFOS 2.1.1.26), I can only swipe from the Lockscreen to the Lockpad "right of it", and then back left from the Lockpad to the Lockscreen. With a "carousel" every swipe (no matter if to the left or right) would switch between Lockscreen and Lockpad.

vattuvarg ( 2017-09-18 23:17:43 +0200 )edit@tortoisedoc: Ah, it is "half a carousel", already. Thanks for making me look more closely: Adapted the description of the "question" / report.
@vattuvarg: You may use the Patch "Device lock faith text" for that purpose, see my Patch list.
