Since my camera stopped working due to some software misconfiguration I tried to factory reset my Jolla. Afterwards it directly shows me the update notification for latest early access release: https://together.jolla.com/question/168137/release-notes-212-kiiminkijoki/?answer=168258#post-id-168258

I take it an update from 2.0.2.51 to 2.1.2.3 is not possible normally?

However that's what the UI offers me and fails at "Size of the update could not be determined"

Can this be hotfixed somehow?

The list of stop releases here: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201836347-How-do-I-download-and-install-a-System-Update-an-OS-update- seems a bit out of date

On top of it it wouldn't help anyway because it won't let me install dev mode as well.

Hope to get some help on this.

"...and fails at." - could you provide more detail please? Error message, screen capture if possible?

It gives me a notification showing "...Updates konnte nicht bestimmt werden"

+1 here, for what it's worth; also reset my Jolla, also tries to update to the latest ver immediately.

MoritzJT: try recreating the Jolla account maybe? this may not be the solution but is sometimes the issue so it's worth specifying in the opening question.

So now I got the whole notification: "Size of the update could not be determined"

Jolla Store Account was recreated and seems fine...

Update still fails with the same exact notification.

@MoritzJT: The list of stop releases is correct but due to an unknown bug the updates of JollaC must traverse via 2.0.5.6 (as if it were a stop release). This issue was mentioned in the end of the known issues of 2.1.1 release notes. I forgot to copy it to the release notes of 2.1.2 (which i have done now), apologies for that. It should work in the following way:

Step 1:

devel-su
ssu re 2.0.5.6
version --dup
reboot

Step 2:

devel-su
ssu re 2.1.2.3
version --dup
reboot

Thank you! I would've come across it maybe if I was trying to update the device in the first place. It just coincided and I didn't check the release notes as I was just expecting it to take me to where I was before...

Device recovered via Telnet and now I will follow your guide.

Same here, device is happily updating, I assume following this will fix it. Thanks for mentioning this!
