Question for Jolla
Regarding Tablet Refund Vouchers ONLY.
Since "The regions and countries where we ship Tablets is: EU, Norway, Switzerland, United States, India, Hong Kong, Russia, Australia, and Canada."
Why for at least Tablet refund vouchers, are United States, India, Hong Kong, Russia, Australia, and Canada not available?
Billing is a reason that has been given for USA and Canada, which is a moot point for refund. Patents surely would've been resolved if needed for tablet project anyway.
No Billing infrastucture needed. No Shipping required.
I've been able to purchase a voucher using refund money, just the Shop says "Sorry, not available in your country" In my case Australia.
WHY?
P.S. I aint giving up on this voucher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they don't follow up, I'd try use a VPN to complete the purchase, hoping that there is no other controls.

- As a complete OS, Sailfish X also contains the firmware used by the 3G/4G portion of the Qualcomm chipset.
- The current version available in the download is currently only licensed and certified through an authority which only gives certification for the European continent. The North-American market would require Jolla Oy to seek a different certification process (among other, the USA doesn't use the strictly same exact Wifi channels as Europe).
DrYak ( 2017-10-07 23:07:09 +0300 )editMy understanding, is that by using Emma, the flash pricess uses the firmware blobs already on the device for modem wifi etc. these should already be certified for the market the phone is sold in.
The only hint so far from Jolla was credit card payments for North America. nothing about certification.
It would be good to know so we can at least estimate when it may become available.
