Dial tone during Alerting [duplicate]
Hi,
not having a tone during the "Alerting" phase is disturbing. Could it be implemented to be able to follow the call progress?

It may just be me, but I don't understand your question - please expand?
(If what you mean is, a corresponding tone when you call someone, I just tried phoning my land line, and had a familiar 'beeeep' in my Jolla, while simultaneously hearing my land line ring - i.e., I could not recreate your problem.
... or is it "Beep-option for ringing" you mean?
phle ( 2014-01-19 10:15:25 +0200 )edit- or maybe just a ringtone starting with a beep (if so, you should be able to change your ringtone to such a tone)?)
Hi @phle, basically, when you call someone, you hear the "ringing tone", I mean the feedback that the other phone you are calling is ringing. I don't have that on the Jolla, only "Alerting" is shown on the screen.
damourti ( 2014-01-20 00:42:02 +0200 )edit@damourti - Ok, then I understood your question correctly, and (as I wrote above) I can't recreate it: I hear it "ringing at the other end" in my Jolla.
(Just in case, I tried it again, here at work: it does indeed say "Alerting..." on my Jolla, and I can hear a corresponding tone in my Jolla as well (even though it's not in sync with the ringing from my job phone - but the time inbetween the beeps in my Jolla does correspond with the time inbetween the ring signal from my job phone).
I have no idea why you don't have this in your Jolla as well.
phle ( 2014-01-20 08:37:26 +0200 )edit(I take it that you've tried doing the same, with the same SIM, with another mobile phone.)
@damourti - (I do know, though, that if I call someone who's a customer with a certain operator (link to their Swedish homepage), I don't hear beeps (only), but (also) a person singing, which is that operator's "trademark" (and, in my opinion, quite annoying).)
phle ( 2014-01-20 08:44:03 +0200 )editWell, I used the Sim card on 2 other phones already without this issue. Weird, I will ask my operator by any chance. thanks anyway @phle.
