It would be nice if Jolla could give us, if not a proper roadmap, at least a priority list they'll follow when implementing ('cause they will implement 'em for sure, right? :-)) the known missing features for Sailfish X: fully working bluetooth, internet sahring, etc.

On top of priorities, and before considering supporting more devices, I suggest fixing the very serious issue of the tiny system partition. Currently, SailfishX users are in a paradoxical situation where there is less room available for native apps than for Android apps. See HERE (08:29:54 #topic Sailfish X storage space) and the unacceptable conclusion ("No safe solutions exist to the two problems: losing 7 GB to factory reset, and too small system partition (rootfs); we'll have in mind to enlarge rootfs in future devices, for now just install less apps and use SD card").

I think the answers in this post are missing the point. What the OP initially requested was a roadmap for Sailfish X provided by Jolla, not an arbitrary list of gaps in functionality from each user.
I found the original roadmap provided by Jolla for Sailfish 2.0 in 2015. There needs to be a similar document for Sailfish X in 2018.
There is talk of new things to come in 2018 from Jolla but I, for one, would like to see these in writing, with dates and estimated timescales.

the basic features should be:
worldwide availibility os Sailfish X
support of the compact and dual sim version
support of all the provided hardware
only this can bring Jolla, more money, more users and us, more interest by the press ect, more app developers, more apps...
Support for the compact Xperia X (which is related in name only) and the dual SIM Xperia X (which works fine with Sailfish X currently) is not a basic feature. It would be better to focus on completely supporting one device and expand the feature set instead of supporting other models of devices. The community is pretty good at porting to devices, but adding VoLTE, VOIP/SIP support, VoWifi, individualized application permissions (for android too), and other important features the community cannot.

VOIP/SIP or VOWIFI is not a basic feature for me. on the other hand, many (N9 users) are crying for smaller phones, and many Jolla C/Aquafish users want back dual Sim functionalities. As I wrote, Jolla needs money to survive. Everyone knows what happened to Maemo, Meego and even WP. with all due respect, another dead OS helps no one, and only casual users bring money Jolla needs. not a few Linux nerds

For me, the most missing part from Sailfish is a "real" browser.
Almost everything can now be done with a browser. In an environment as Sailfish where it is difficult to get attractions from developers, I just cannot understand why Jolla people don't spend time to create a very powerful browser as BlackBerry did with BB10 Browser.
It will solve all problems about apps ....
Jolla is investigating and made the "real" browser based on gecko and which is now Sailfish-Browser. Currently they are developing a replacement for the QtWebkit based Webview based upon this work. (at least it looks like from the code changes in the browser and some hints in community meetings)

Sorry to say but you guys seem to not be aware or don't want to accept that Jolla is no longer a consumer focused company. They fix and put into Sailfish what the consortiums they have deals with need and want...the old Maemo community's needs and wants don't register. We are beta testers to make sure that certain functionality works and that is all.
Maybe, but even bulk enterprise buyers, OEM vendors, and other licensees will want to see their devices working fully and reliably. So I expect Jolla to at least fix the hardware issues and business related apps, i.e. the closed source parts. Everything else may be low priority, but when it is open source the community can pitch in. Seems good enough for me.

Sure, business cooperation in multiple countries to provide localized SFOS versions probably takes up a lot of manpower which lacks for the community version. However, this engagement hopefully pays Jollas bills and ensures the survival of the company. Even though Sailfish X does cost a license fee for us users, I'm pretty sure Jolla is not making any big revenue, especially not on long sight. Furthermore, a lot of the development in these cooperation can also benefit the "community" version of SFOS like bug fixes and new features. While I can understand a certain frustration about this situation on your side (I would also prefer for bugs to be fixed immediately as well), your claim is not a valid criticism but a harmful statement for Jolla and SFOS without any proof that drives users away.
But I'm sure you have a much better business plan on how to offer a Maemo-based phone OS which generates enough revenue to ensure a longtime, stable development. So let's hear it.

Actions speak louder than words...they always have and always will. I don't demand anything from Jolla, I don't ask them to fix anything nor do I complain in threads about what needs to be fixed. What they have is what they have and that is all. You're funny...a harmful statement that you nor anyone else can refute? When was the last time Jolla reached out to developers...I mean really reached out? The app store has fewer apps after 4yrs than the N9 had after 1yr and it was a stillbirth OS. But I'm making harmful statements? Jolla releases versions for their beta testers which I and everyone else here is one of. I'm actually fine with it and happy that SF is around. You seem to have taken my comments personally which is bizarre. We're only talking about an OS here...not life and death. The problems that we all have here are first world problems and not that important.

bluetooth works for me and internet sharing not every user needs, i for one have never used it don't see what it is even for.

I'll bring my laptop to work and update it there every once in a while, and all other Internet-related stuuff (like being active here :) I'll do on the Xperia while waiting for Internet sharing in Sailfish X.
Lars Maria ( 2017-10-18 12:55:37 +0300 )editMostly i would say defects and bugs in VPN, Mobile Data, Wifi to Mobile Data Handoffs, need to be fixed way before worrying about VOIP, Wifi HotSpot, etc, next come UI improvements and better utilization of the Xperia hardware, Capabilities, Camera, Screen Resolution, etc, next would be securing the /home by encrypting the information, next would be allowing backup of Jolla Store Apps etc.
