I've previously successfully installed play store to all my SFOS devices following the guides found here, mainly this one: https://together.jolla.com/question/114608/howto-install-gapps-gplay-google-play-kk-on-tablet-or-c/ and this one to stop the play store from updating itself: https://together.jolla.com/question/161072/play-store-app-issue-in-intex-aqua-fish/

Until last week or so, I was able to install apps on my Jolla C with the play store installed. However, now I cannot install any apps with play store and trying to update the play store to a newer version gives an out of space error as discussed in the comment section here: https://together.jolla.com/question/172028/xperia-x-can-not-install-google-play-store/

So now my Jolla C and Xperia X do not have a working play store, which is kind of sad as some of my apps (banking etc.) need that to be working.

Has anyone installed play store successfully in the last few days? Could you tell me what you did to get things working?

EDIT: so basically the question is: how to update play store from the version 4.6.17 to be able to install apps? Installing newer versions give error about not enough space.

The problem wit newer play store versions is that the device status get uncertified. This ends up in "download pending" status and nothing happens. No solution is available yet. The good thing is play servies are installed and apps can use them when requiered.I installed other stores but problem is that not every app is available maye and updates come up later. There is this store https://github.com/yeriomin/YalpStore which downloads and depends on play store content. So thats my solution for gettin playstore content and beeing up to date, Hope this helps. The installation should work with this guide: https://together.jolla.com/question/114608/howto-install-gapps-gplay-google-play-kk-on-tablet-or-c/ worked for me

When did you install? I've got many apps of course working by installing them from other sources but some apps do not even start... "Download pending" is not my problem, instead the app just stays in the old version and that version says "Your device isn't compatible with this version" for all apps.

There is a workaround, downgrade to a version of Play Store (6.4.13 on my phone) that works and then use terminal to set "immutable" attribute on com.android.vending apk (afaik), as explained here: https://together.jolla.com/question/161072/play-store-app-issue-in-intex-aqua-fish/ This will keep Store from updating, so you could keep using a version that works.

More info somewhere in this thread: https://together.jolla.com/question/160541/is-sailfish-blocked-from-google-play-store/

yeah, but if you keep your play store /play services version down it's possible that latest app updates are not available for you when they rely on the version of play store / service

I cannot install a newer play store, I only have the version 4.6.17, and if I try to update it, I get an error saying that I don't have enough space (as did someone else, see the link in original post)
