I saved sailfish-maps-1.1.27-10.42.2.jolla.armv7hl.rpm on my Jolla 1 (pkcon --only-download) then sent it to my Xperia. Then installed seamlessly.

Works also with sailfish-maps-1.1.28-10.43.1.jolla.armv7hl.rpm

what did you do to save it on Jolla 1, can you describe the steps?

With Jolla phone, type in terminal (as nemo): pkcon -d download /home/nemo/Downloads sailfish-maps then look into /home/nemo/Downloads where you will find the .rpm installer to be sent to your Xperia (currently sailfish-maps-1.1.28-10.43.1.jolla.armv7hl.rpm)

hey objectifnul, can you copy the rpm for me? My Jolla 1 broke. I did like to use it on SailfishX.

You may send it to kyuktxgo @ emlpro . com

here you have an answer https://together.jolla.com/question/136988/there-is-no-maps-app-in-jolla-c-store/?answer=139675#post-id-139675

so if don't want to use android apps you should use:

  1. https://openrepos.net/content/martink/modrana-0
  2. https://openrepos.net/content/otsaloma/poor-maps

or

  1. https://openrepos.net/content/karry/osm-scout

HERE wego still gives me problems so I am doing my navigation with Poor Maps (from OpenRepos).

Add OSM Scout Server (also from OpenRepos) and you have offline navigation.

@vattuberg Yep, routing, map rendering, POI search & automated map data pack download/update with global coverage, based on OpenStreetMap data. :)

Also, a detailed OSM Scout Server manual is available, which among other things contains instructions on how to use it with modRana and Poor Maps. :)

I'm running Jolla 1. After the last update (2.0.5.6) sailfish maps self removed from my phone. Attempts to install it through the store were unsuccessful - it tells something non informative (smth like "critical error, can't install"). Then I've tried to do it by pkcon. mobdro

It was replaced by Here Maps. If you don't want to use AD go to openrepos. There are a couple of good map apps there....

can you show output of:

pkcon search sailfish-maps

Honestly, who needs sailfish maps when there is pure maps?

yep Pure Maps is great, used it when traveling recently.

cpb ( 2019-01-05 13:16:23 +0300 )edit

@bomo The option "show on map" in the native contact app works only with sailfish-maps. On my Xperia X works sailfish-maps with SFOS 3.0.0.8
