Hi, following last year's Jolla @MWC 2017 post, I think is good to keep all news about jolla at this year's MWC in one place. Has someone fresh news to share?

No news (I'm not there), but an irritating tweet. :)

Whats that one non-touchscreen phone we see there?

Edit: Press conference at 11:30, probably no hard facts until then.

So the new phone, according to cybette's picture, should be the XA2? Disappointed. I wonder what's the meaning of the Nokia 3310.

Some cool news indeed, Sailfish 3 with VoLTE and few other goodies. I wonder what's the App Access Control shown in the SailfishOS 3 promo vid. Would it be more finegrained access permissions for apps?

VOLTE is coming to Sailfish OS in version 3 and the OS would be suitable for 4G-enabled feature phones too.

From all the xprerias you could choose you opted for the crappiest.

COME ON JOLLA.

It may be crap in your eyes, but I am rather satisfied with my Xperia X running Sailfish OS.

All the limitations and shortcomings in using the device as a daily driver are caused by the software, not the hardware. A higher-specced device wouldn't have helped to change the situation of the camera's autofocus, fingerprint sensor, and bluetooth stack, to name just a few.

@ziellos he probably refers to the XA2 annuncement done today, not about the currently supported xperia x

to my knowledge XA2 is low-end phone, but i'm not a guru at all about sony phones

@ziellos i am refering to the XA2. The X is a nice phone but its big. I was hopping for xz2c -which is also larger than what i'd like- but i could live with it.

The HW is -and has always been- the biggest issue with Jolla. Anyone that said HW is easy had no idea what he was talking about.

Well I googled XA2 and it actually makes sense — it has Snap 630 so it should be fairly similar to X with 650. And after all, 8xx snaps are clear overkill for Sailfish.

Still, I do not approve their choice either. COMPACT, Jolla, cant't you hear people screaming about it?

FFS, there's a github project and obs repo ready with almost everything needed to support the X Compact (again thanks to everyone who worked on it), the only thing you people need to do is make an official image.

@figgis-diggis, here you go for a XperiaX compact image ("community built", thus without AlienDalvik).
Still I concur that Jolla should "officially" support a "compact" Xperia X.
