Do we get full functionality on the Xperia X (and XA2)?

If I look on sony's website of open devices, I can see that the Xperia X and other devices don't maintain their full value. For example the camera only has 20MP of the normal 23MP. Also in the sound section, there's no support for Hi-res audio, LDAC,... then there are many more minor losses.

Is this also true when im running sailfish OS on an Xperia X? They were on good foot with sony, so maybe they implemented some of it in their closed source parts?

I want to invest in buying the phone and installing sailfish OS. But I really want the LDAC support...

I think a short answer is no, the limiting factor is what Sony AOSP is releasing.

I think Sony has releasing LDAC to AOSP, see https://eischmann.wordpress.com/2019/02/11/better-bluetooth-sound-quality-on-linux/

As an owner of the XA2 (H4113) I can say that when you zoom a photo at 100% there are visible signs of upscaling (together with oversharpening), so I highly doubt that 20MP with SailfishX will be any worse than 23 MP with Android. As for the rest - yes, there are some shortcomings, mainly with proprietary and patented technologies that Sony ships with Android only, but anyway they are all minor things.

It would be nice to see some of these implemented. The most important thing should be getting access to the noise-cancelling microphone so we can have actual speakerphone.
