Dropbox integration issue [duplicate]

I\ve got a problem with the dropbox integration, which does not seem to be related to existing dropbox issues:

Actually there is no possibility for me to sign in with a standard mailadress. When I hit the "Sign in" button the circle that shows it's processing keeps turning but nothing happens. Appears on Jolla1, Xperia X and Fairphone2, all with OS Version 2.1.4.14. Using googles mailadress for a dropbox account works fine. Deleting the Apps directory on dropbox directly for a new integration process didn't work. I tried creating a new dropbox account with a new mailadress, but the sailfish integration also didn't work.

I've experienced the same result ...a spinning circle, but the login does not complete.

Finally, my solution was to add the dropbox account in the gallery app. Howsoever this works. Crazy.

Has someone a solution in the meantime. I'm currently using Sailfish OS 2.1.4.14 on Intex Aqua Fish, because Intex doesn't offer the update yet. It the issue fixed in the official SailfishOS 2.2 release?

I relized the issue, when I tried to synchronize the account. I could upload an image but not see it in the gallery afterwards. Thus I removed the Dropbox account and tried to re-create it.

I also trief the following steps:

  • Deleting Sailfish OS from the list of linked apps in Dropbox
  • Changing the linked email address for the Dropbox account
  • Changing the password without umlaut, that may cause a problem
  • Restarting the Sailfish device
  • Switching of VPN connection

I'm afraid it is a bug. I can remember, that there was an announcement of Dropbox for an API change. But I also realized, that a login with the default Sailfish OS browser is not possible. This is confusing.

I could manage to login within the default Sailfish OS browser, if I use the private mode. Therefore I deleted the cache and cookies. That was a recommendation in the Dropbox community. But this doesn't have any impact on the system logn, unfortunately. Has anyone tried to contact the Dropbox support?

I did open a ticket at Dropbox, but they told me, that the issue is not their fault. Afterwards I posted a question in the community forum of Dropbox. I will post a solution, if someone of the Dropbox community has an idea.
