Will there be an official image/support from Jolla for Sony Xperia X compact [answered]

I have an uneducated guess ... Probably something to do with simple demand. I've been an Xperia compact user going back to Z1c 2014, (2 of them), and even back to X10 mini 2012, (and including Xperia Active, Xperia Go, and Xperia Z3c, [2 of them], and currently using Xc with Sailfish), and, even though they're typically some of the best phones to come out, (and definitely the best for their size), they just don't have the draw of many other phones, and development tends to be a flash-in-the-pan. The Z3 and Z5 lines did better than most, but overall, people want bigger phones, and other brands. I wonder if it's all the risk Jolla feels like taking just to have the X, never mind branching oit to even smaller niches...

I also think the demand is too low. Both generally and specifically for the x compact. Even though i myself is/was considering the x compact. And general worries are: the android app support does not seem to have a future. We live in a dystopia. SailfishOS is good if you only need basic functions, but even so, it seems the development in society goes towards more and more lock-in to surveilled platforms (which android among others is). If you're watching the tv-series Westworld, the recent twist is quite applicable; what most people seem to miss (or not care about) is that what really matters is that you're being watched and analysed for someone else's benefit, while you're enjoying your social media, and all the ways to be connected to people and the world around you.

I totally disagree. I don't think, that the demand for Xperia X Compact is any lower than the now supported Dual SIM version. Or was there any survey about that? If I look around at TJC I have the impression the X Compact is even more popular than Dual SIM version.

I'd be interested in xperia compact, too! That comment on jolla blog deserves a clarification, indeed.

Is this just my impression or is Jolla's decision to not support the Compact final? I'm no programmer but for me it seems as if most of the work was already done with offering the community build. Unfortunately the last comments didn't help me understand which specific problems hinder the transformation of the community build into an official version. I'd be really happy to see an official support of the Xc.
