When using Here maps for navigation (guidance has to be started, in my experience), minimizing and then switching back to the here app makes it decrease the volume by about 30% each time. A few consecutive switches from and to the app can zero the volume completely.

The app is also incapable of sounding its warnings and driving instructions if another app is playing music at the same time -- odd, given that SMS and IM apps have no problem "winning" with a music player.

Are there any plans of fixing this? Or at least is there a workaround that would prevent Here maps from adjusting the volume?

Confirming. This is very annoying.

Switching apps should not change volume.

In guidance, you shouldn't be switching apps, you should be driving ;)

@rgrnetalk it's always the passenger switching apps, obviously :P
