contact notes cardDAV syncing charset

Still I use the notes field in contacts frequently, even though Jolla's People app does not show these notes. Everyhing syncs ok, however, notes containing letters ä, ö, ü convert inot a mess, looking like

could it be notes get synced but the Charset is stuck in a primitive setting? ö, ö, ü from visible fields get treated nicely and sync ok. It would be great to get a visible notes field sometime in the future, by the way, in that 'people' app.

I have experienced the same issue wilth æ, ø and å, with SailfishOS, DAViCal and Evolution. Would be glad for a fix :-)

oh, good idea: I use OpenSync to take care of syncing issues on the android side of things. Currently I am tempted to switch back to google calendar to simplify syncing a bit.

after having disabled Opensync, I triggered a CalDAV and CardDAV sync in Jolla's Settings pane, and voilà: The previously deleted

24 Heizungs- Lüftungs- Klima Anlagen 242 Wärmeerzeugung 25 Sanitä‚ranlagen

effect is back in my address book.
