Event view doesn't show ongoing events when over half event has passed

If an event has a start and end time, when about half the event has passed it doesn't show in the events view. For instance I enter my travels to start at departure time and end at arrival at home. If it's a multi day travel, say vacation, it stops showing in the events view after half of the days has passed. Instead I think it should be shown as an all-day event, preferably with end day showing.
Also, tonight I have a delivery between 17 and 21, so I put it in my calendar. I'd like to see the event all the way to 21 instead of it disappearing at 19, perhaps as "ongoing" and the end time.
Whole day events spanning multiple days aren't affected by this and are shown through their whole duration.
