I mentioned something strange on my XperiaX with SFOS 2.2. I downloaded an .pdf and it shows up in Settings->Transfers, but not in the Overview within Jollas Documents-App. After I searched the pdf files with "file browser" in root mode (from root directory / ) I found them under /tmp, but they doesn't get saved under /home/nemo/.

An example: when i download the epub of THIS BOOK, I can find the file (after the download finished) under /home/nemo/downloads/. When I download the pdf, Jolla Documents open and show me the file, but it don't save it to /home/nemo/...wherever, I only can find it within /tmp If I use Webcat-Browser, everything works as it should, the pdf lands under downloads. So it's an bug within the browser. The problem still persist in 2.2.1.18

On my Jolla1 , I've just downloaded a PDF from Jolla, it has landed in /home/nemo/Downloads but like you say, we'd expect a document to land in /home/nemo/Documents. I also have Jolla's Documents app installed and found my pdf there first off.

Filecase root app has an excellent search function, (if you know the name of the file you're looking for, or you can search for '.pdf'). Go to root directory, and pull down for search. Also, make sure it actually downloaded. It may show in transfers, but maybe with 'failed' or 'pending' message. Also, depending on the site you downloaded from, it may not have downloaded as 'file.pdf', but sometimes the name of the downloaded file will be something else, like 'file.php', or maybe just 'file' with no extension and you have to rename it.

It may be depending of what browser you use: I am using Brave, which is an Android app, and the files are stored under ../android_storage/Download

Same here, SFOS on Xperia: download an attachment from an email (Gmail) in the mail client, expecting it in the download folder and the Document-app, but it's hiding somewhere under /tmp and the only way I can read it is through the email (it doesn't show in the Document-app).

Seems the download did not finish? Can you open the file from transfer dialog?

Else it is absolutely normal that downloaded files land in 'Downloads' directory. What do you expect downloaded files/documents to be stored on desktop systems (windoze/linux/...)? Exactly: under 'Downloads'! 'Documents' is for my documents or moved PDFs from Downloads ;)

Download finished and can be opened from Transfer Dialog until I reboot the phone.

That's exactly the point. The pdf files doesn't get saved in ANY folder under /home/nemo/. I only can find them under /tmp. This is also the reason why they are gone after reboot and the dialog of "Documents" can not find them.

Ah okay, understood.

On my JollaC (latest OS) this pdf downloads just fine to home/nemo/Downloads. Tested with Jolla browser as well as webcat.

So.something buggy on your device or Xperia?

This is the behaviour of Firefox (which Sailfish Browser is based on) when you have selected to always open a file type with a particular application -- downloaded files gets saved to a tempprary location ("/tmp" on Linux) and the associated application is opened with the file. So, I think the issue is the (mis-) configuration of your browser.

This configuration is out of the box on Xperia and there does not seem to be any user friendly way to change it...
